Specifications & Notes
Please
make original posters on the research topic. I would like to post your posters
on the blog for the public to view.
Construct
your posters as infographics to present your research results clearly and
visually. Make sure that your audience can pick up the main ideas and messages
quickly and easily.
Size
and format: 24 x 35 inches. Submit 2 files (1) PDF and (2) JPG format
Please
shrink your files to less than 50 Mb in memory size.
Place your group (Section-Topic) number at the upper left corner as shown.
Your section-topic number is your
final group number.

For
poster preparation, you may consider the following:
1.
Choose one specific area of interest that you wish to present to your
fellow students
2.
Gather relevant information
3.
Select important information
4.
Decide on the focus of the presentation
5.
Make a chart of the logic, approach, objectives, hypothesis, etc. for
your presentation
6.
Organize your materials according to the chart
7.
Design the lay-out
a.
A poster is a kind of infographics

Sections help readers to follow the information flow
c.
A picture is worth a thousand words
d.
Bullet points are better than paragraphs
e.
Charts and figures are better than bullet points
f.
Fonts need to be large enough to read at 2 feet away
g.
Supplementary materials may be used
8.
Make the poster with Powerpoint or a similar software
9.
Make sure the size of the poster is set at the specified size: 24W x 35H inches
10.
Convert or save the file to PDF and JPG format
11.
Submit via Blackboard. We will
print the poster for you
12.
Deadline of submission: 23/3/2017. We need some time
to send to the printer to print your poster
Score
calculation:
Professor
Kwan will give scores to each group (P)
Each
student will also give scores to each group except their own group (S)
Each
group will give scores to their own group (O)
Final
score will be calculated by the this formula: P+S+[45-│(P-O)│-│(S-O)│]
The
final score will be converted to the scale of 15% of the course marks

Students
are required to stand by their posters and present them during the time slot
assigned to their groups. Those belonging to the same session and not
presenting are required to visit the posters and discuss with the presenters
and give scores.

student of the group gets the same score. Score of 1 is the lowest, 5 is the
highest.
