Tackling Epidemiology Outbreak Cases:

Simple path approach may be useful.

Examine all important information-->Calculate Incubation Period-->Any pathogens detected? From whom and what foods?-->Any high risk food involved? -->Any special symptoms? -->What pathogen may be involved? --> Any inconsistence for the potential pathogenic agent involved in the case? --> Hypothesize and explain your answer.

Identify the most important factor first and go from there.

The hypothesis should be the one that you can deduce with all relevant information but with the simplest deduction path. But you also have to explain why you eliminate some of the pathogens detected in the case as not relevant to the outbreak.
